How to cook black rice puttu
Ingredients: 1 cup of Dhanyam’s Black rice puttu mavu, 1/2 cup grated coconut, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup water
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add Dhanyam’s Black rice puttu mavu and salt. Add water little by little and mix well to form a crumbly texture.
- Take a puttu maker and fill the bottom with water.
- In the cylindrical portion of the puttu maker, add a layer of grated coconut, followed by a layer of Dhanyam’s Black rice puttu mavu mixture. Continue layering until the cylindrical portion is full. Make sure to end with a layer of grated coconut.
- Place the cylindrical portion on top of the puttu maker.
- Steam for 5-10 minutes or until the puttu is cooked.
- Once cooked, remove the cylindrical portion from the puttu maker and push the puttu out onto a plate.
- Serve hot with banana and Dhanyam’s Jaggery powder or curry.
