Thinai upma (Foxtail millet recipe)

Hello friends,
You might be used to making upma with sooji rava, but try it with THINAI and it’s definitely worth the effort! This step-by-step foxtail millet upma recipe makes a great winter breakfast or dinner.

1 cup thinai/ thinai rava (Foxtail Millet)
1 Carrot finely chopped
2 red chillies
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Urad Dal
Turmeric Powder ? a pinch
A few Curry Leaves
1 tsp oil
Salt as per taste

Heat oil in a pan
Add mustard seeds, urad dal, dry red chillies
Add carrot
Pour 2 cups of water and bring to a boil
Add salt, curry leaves, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, and thinai
Cover with a lid and simmer over low flame for 10 minutes
Stir well and serve hot

Note: Thinai rava can also be used.
