Green Peas

Green peas boost your immunity since they are packed with antioxidants like flavinoids, carotenoid, phenolic acids and polyphenols. A protective polyphenol called coumestrol found in green peas is said to help prevent stomach cancer. They are rich in phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals. You can also ensure normal bowel movements by eating peas regularly. Their high fibre content relieves the symptoms of constipation. Fresh pea pods are also a rich source of folic acid, ascorbic acid and essential B-complex vitamins.
They are also said to be great for your skin. A fistful of green peas daily is said to keep wrinkles and fine lines away. They are effective in anti-ageing due to their high anti-oxidant content. Just add some seasoning to a cup of boiled peas and eat them as mid day snacks.
